Heartburn hard to find an appointmnet in Potland, Maine usa?
I want to see a specialist to get tested for H.pyolari for heartburn. I went to a emergency in the hospital but i was seen by a general practioner. I requested for a specialist but they say they can’t get a specialist….they say i have to make an appointment at a gasteroenterology center and when i call them there are no appointments…i was like begging for an appointment but of no use…Please tell me what are my options? The gasteroenterologists dont have anything open for teh next 2 months…the only option i had was to go to a medical center(hospital) whnere i was turned back and was not seen by a specialist.
Can i sue the hospital for not helping me because they have gasteroenterologist but they cant see me it seems….they say that i got to take an appointment at the gaasteroenterologist clinic.

I think you should try to find a general practitioner (family doctor) and see them rather than the medical center. They can order up the H.pyolari test and any other tests that you might need. If they think that you need to see a GI doctor they can pull strings can get you in quickly.
In the mean time have you tried any over the counter medications or life style changes? I’ve listed a web site below with lots of information that might allow you to help yourself. If you haven’t tried anything like Zantac or Prilosec, both are available over the counter and might make you alot more comfortable while you are waiting to see a doctor. Try Zantac first and then Prilosec if the Zantac is not helpful.
